MUSLIM AND ARABS INTELLECTUAL AND ARTISTS APPEAL

We, Arabs and Muslim who live and work in Italy appeal to the brother who detain in their hands Simona Pari and Simona Torretta, humanitarian aid workers, together with the two Iraqi aid worker, Ra'ad Ali Abdul-Aziz and Mahnaz Bassam, to free them immediately. We knew and we know their commitments and the Association actions to whom they take part, Un Ponte per...; a work acted openly to help Iraqi people in the hard time of the UN embargo and wars. From this preferred observatory we ask you to consider how much damage you are giving rise to the cause of peace and to the cause of Iraqi people.

The dignity, the respect for the guest and the gratitude for the shared bread impose us all, as the best Arab and Islamic tradition, to work for the safety of whom help us in the need time. We ask to not break  the glimmer of hope which, even though and against the embargo first and the war later, even though and against the Italian governments, people as our sister Simona and Simona have hold firmly and courageously, organizing very big demonstration in favour of peace and for the withdrawal of foreign troops from Iraq.

They have tried to not abandon Iraqis to the military occupation. In the name of this struggle and this truth, we implore: free them at once! Save the life of Simona Pari, di Simona Torretta, di Ra'ad Alì Abdul-Aziz, di Mahnaz Bassam.

They were in Baghdad also in our name. Their release would be a light in the darkness.
Now in these hours, in many Iraqi towns, the war kills innocent victims.

So we firmly call for the end of occupation!
