its deep protest against the kidnapping of NGO volunteers Simona Torretta, Simona Pari and their Iraqi co-workers in Iraq. Simona Torretta and Simona Pari are activists of the Italian peace movement, and they have helped the Palestinian refugees in Lebanon in co-operation with the Palestinian organization Beit Atfal Assomoud, with whom also Finnish-Arab Friendship Society has co-operated already for over 20 years.

Simona Torretta and Simona Pari were in Iraq for strictly humanitarian reasons. They are the kind of people whom the world needs to make the world a bit better place to live. This kind of kidnapping means kidnapping the hope from Iraqi people.
