To the Palestinian Civil Society

The Italian NGOs in Palestine ask for the immediate liberation of Simona Torretta, Simona Pari, Ra'ad Ali Abdul-Aziz and Mahnaz Bassam belonging to the Italian Associations “A Bridge for Baghdad” and Intersos kidnapped in Baghdad

We have been working together with the Palestinians and all the oppressed peoples, everywhere in the world, also in our countries. We fight because we still believe that a dignified and peaceful future is possible and necessary. In the years, we had to multiply our efforts alongside with the increasing racism, intolerance, individualism, violence, and wars everywhere. For years we worked side by side with civil societies' organizations in order to build possible, concrete, and sustainable alternatives, in an atmosphere of dialogue and mutual respect.

For these reasons we cannot accept the idea that a clash of civilizations is ignited by a brutal war that exploits this clash for the obscure intentions of its promoters.

We believe that neither the Palestinian nor the Iraqi people, fighting against the military occupations of their lands, could call resistance such actions as those carried out by the umpteenth nameless group in Iraq playing the game of this dirty war. A war that makes victims among the Iraqi population itself and makes use of our bodies - often used instead to prevent that other victims were made.

Blackmail and terror continue to be resorted to by those who want this war and not by those who are fighting it and that are asking for justice, rights, peace and freedom.

We ask to the Palestinian civil society to join our voices, using also local media, in asking the kidnappers for the immediate and unconditional release of our brothers and sisters; to strongly condemn these acts and to undertake actions to distance themselves as far as possible from these groups at the service of terror.

نداء من أجل الإفراج عن العاملين في المجال الإنساني الأربعة المخطوفين في العراق

نحن، الحركة الإيطالية من اجل السلام، أخوة وأخوات سيمونا باري و سيمونا توريتا العاملات في مجال السلام في العراق، نتوجه للخاطفين طالبين إطلاق سراحهن وسراح العاملين العراقيين رعد علي عبدا لعزيز و مهناز بسام. نطالبكم بالأخذ بعين الاعتبار الضرر الذي أصاب قضية السلام وقضية الشعب العراقي.

هنا نقتبس مما كتبته الجالية المسلمة في العراق" نطلب منكم أن تحكموا ضمائركم باتجاه الذين شاركوا معكم في معاناة الشعب العراقي في سنوات الحصار والذين مكثوا إلى جانبكم عندما أمطرت السماء قنابل والذين لم يتركوا العراق في هذه الشهور الصعبة من التخبط والعنف".

نطلب منكم أن لا تقطعوا حبل التضامن الذي عملت أخواتنا على المحافظة عليه بشجاعة و بإصرار بالرغم من الحصار أولا وبالرغم من موقف حكومتنا، على سبيل المثال دورهن في إيصال المياه للسكان المحاصرين في الفالوجة والنجف.

"جسر من اجل" هي منظمتهم غير الحكومية وبمشاركة مئات المنظمات الاجتماعية والسياسية في ايطاليا نظمت العديد من المظاهرات الضخمة من اجل السلام مطالبين بسحب القوات الأجنبية من العراق، وعملت أن لا تترك الشعب العراقي تحت حكم الاحتلال العسكري.

باسم هذا النضال وباسم الحق نتوجه إليكم: أطلقوا سراحهم.

نتوجه إلى الشعب العراقي والى كل محبي السلام في العالم وفي ايطاليا، نطلب منكم أن تساعدونا من اجل إنقاذ حياة سيمونا باري، سيمونا توريتا، رعد علي عبدا لعزيز و مهناز بسام. لقد كانوا في بغداد نيابة عنا جميعا ونحن الآن نعتبر أنفسنا في السجن معهم.

إن إطلاق سراحهم يعتبر إشعاع نور في ظلام العنف. حتى هذه الساعة وفي العديد من المدن العراقية تحصد الحرب ضحايا مدنيين، لذلك نطالب وبإصرار أن تتوقف الحرب وان ينتهي الاحتلال.

كل أشكال التحرك الجماهيري، الضغط، النداء، التوضيح والرسائل إلى الحكومات هي الوسائل التي نملكها حاليا نحن شعوب السلام. نعم لنستخدم هذه الوسائل جميعا.

نطلب من الحركة الإيطالية من اجل السلام أن تنزل إلى الشوارع في كل المدن الإيطالية مع أعلام قوس قزح باسم أخواتنا وإخواننا المخطوفين في العراق
