Water for Gaza

TAKE THE ACTION FOR THE PALESTINIAN POPULATION AND HELP US BRING WATER TO GAZA

Un Ponte Per calls for an end to the genocide and launches an appeal for Gaza to respond to the growing crisis resulting from the current escalation of violence and the complete siege of the Palestinian people by Israel.

The deliberate destruction of vital infrastructure and the blockade on humanitarian aid imposed by Israeli forces are limiting access to essential resources such as food and clean water.

Can you imagine the impact of all this on children? They are the most vulnerable and exposed to diseases like cholera, chronic diarrhea, and malnutrition. Ensuring clean water is a key factor in guaranteeing their survival.

With your donation to the WATER FOR GAZA campaign, we will enable the Palestinian organization UAWC to provide water to 2,000 families, strengthening the local response to the emergency. Make a donation today.

CHILDREN ARE AT RISK OF DYING FROM HUNGER AND THIRST

In Gaza, exposure to contaminated water is causing epidemics of hepatitis, cholera, and diarrhea, particularly affecting children. Due to the lack of medicines and the very few health facilities spared from destruction, these epidemics easily risk becoming lethal.

What is happening is not a side effect of war but the result of an indiscriminate policy declared by Israel. Since the beginning of its military offensive, Israel has prevented access to humanitarian aid, food, and clean water inside the Gaza Strip.

GENOCIDE IS UNDERWAY

Let's call things by their rightful names. Since last October, the Palestinian population in the Gaza Strip has been subjected to a genocidal military offensive by Israel. The indiscriminate killing of thousands, deliberate attacks on water and power facilities, military siege, and the blockade of humanitarian aid, along with the demolitions of hospitals, schools, universities, shelters, and civilian buildings, represent an evident attempt at the total annihilation of Gaza and its inhabitants.

But the history in Palestine did not begin on October 7. Turning a blind eye to Israeli settlement colonialism, the regime of military occupation and apartheid in the Occupied Territories, and the complete siege of Gaza has made possible what we are witnessing today: an unprecedented humanitarian catastrophe in recent history.

"Assisting populations under attack is our responsibility. However, humanitarian intervention must be accompanied by the condemnation of human rights violations and a commitment to addressing the root causes of conflicts. Supporting life and freedom in Gaza today is also in the interest of Israeli civilians, who on October 7th experienced serious and unjustifiable crimes. The only way to promote their security is to ensure equal dignity for all those who inhabit those lands, rejecting any colonialist agenda", Martina Pignatti Morano, Director of Un Ponte Per.

OUR RESPONSE: WATER FOR GAZA

We believe it is urgent to support local Palestinian organizations that are on the front lines in responding to the ongoing crisis. They can provide timely responses and address systemic issues while providing immediate relief.

The WATER FOR GAZA campaign aims to provide immediate aid to our partner, the Union of Agricultural Work Committees (UAWC), established to support the rights of Palestinian farmers and defend their lands from confiscation, occupation, and exploitation by Israel.

Today, given the catastrophic situation in the Gaza Strip, it provides immediate relief by ensuring clean water for thousands of families and support for what remains of local agricultural activities.

With 5,500 €: We will provide water and hygiene kits to 500 families to mitigate the risk of disease spread due to water contamination.

With 11,000 €: We will distribute water and hygiene kits to over 1,000 families and provide food packages to displaced people throughout Gaza.

With 22,000 €: We will ensure water, hygiene kits, and food packages for 2,000 families. In the long term, we will repair some of the water infrastructure damaged by Israeli attacks, laying the groundwork for the community's future recovery.

25 €

Aids 500 families in Rafah to avoid contracting lethal diseases by providing clean water and hand soap.

75 €

Enables deliveries and distributions of clean water, hygiene kits, and food to 1,000 families living in the central area of the Gaza Strip.

150 €

Aids in repairing cisterns damaged by Israeli attacks to ensure long-term uncontaminated water for 2,000 displaced families from northern Gaza to Khan Younis.

Make a donation to help Gaza now. You will help us bring water, hygiene kits, and food to displaced people.

Our local partner UAWC has suffered direct damage from Israeli bombings. Three out of its four offices in Gaza have been destroyed. The team present in the Strip currently consists of 50 people working tirelessly in various areas.

Activities are carried out through a combination of direct distribution to families and collaboration with local organizations to reach the most vulnerable populations. UAWC uses mobile distribution units for areas with limited access and establishes distribution points in areas less at risk of Israeli attacks.

"Israel has raided our office not once but twice. They barricaded our doors, left a military order saying we are not allowed to work. They destroyed and stole things from our office." Yasmeen, member of the UAWC staff in the West Bank.
