In Iraq for over 10 years we have worked to ensure the protection and support of minority communities - Christians, Yazidi, Shabak, Kaka'i, Turkmen and many others - offering programs which protect their cultural heritage, art and libraries. We aim to strengthen and sustain social cohesion by promoting mutual understanding through dialogue.
We continue to be active in the protection of minorities in Iraq, working to ensure that their rich and ancient mosaic of cultures is preserved.
Following the immediate crisis brought on by the advance of Daesh (Islamic State), we accompanied displaced communities to safer areas of the country where we established protected areas and community centers dedicated especially to young people. These centers actively promote communication and understanding among diverse groups.
